For a company, its reputation means everything. As you grow, the name of the company also grows but the deciding point arrives when the name of your company is mentioned, either under bad brands or good brands.
“It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently.” - Warren Buffet
What makes a company good or bad?
What decided whether the products it sells are good or not?
What will make you lose your customers?
It takes years to build a name but it doesn't take even a little mistake to ruin it all.
Here are 5 ways which will mark your company’s reputation at risk:
Your customers want to know about you, your product, its reviews, and etc. If you are not posting enough contents on your website or not promoting enough on your social media accounts, then you won’t be able to gain the trust of people. Increase your resources, like online assets, media channels, and etc.
When you join the marketing league, be prepared to face the things you thought couldn’t be possible at one point, like from low growth to growth explosion. Be prepared to face everything and plan accordingly. Do not chew more than you can swallow. Do not lose focus from your target market in the hurry to become rich. Take it slowly as you have planned in the business plan.
The lack of strategy in business plans has become the cause of the failure of many startups. Do not let it become yours too. A business plan must be strategic if nothing else: your each investment, your each move, your each project, your each decision counts.
Many entrepreneurs, in the start, make an amazing layout of their business plan but as they develop either they diverge from their original strategy or are too rigid to accept change.
Apart from the CEO, there are a number of people involved in a business and when those people fail to become a team or fail to produce outputs, business starts declining.
It is a must for an entrepreneur to hire eligible and capable employees. If you find they are not up to the mark, do not hesitate to sack them. It is about the future of your company, difficult decisions must be made, even if that ineligible worker is someone from your relation.
The digital world has made life an easy path yet there are people who are always ready to spoil the comfort and positivity of something. Cyber criminals are among them.
If you have not ensured a tight security of your company (not only physical but overall, including the computerized details) then the reputation risk is at its height. If you can’t secure your own company, how would you be able to win the trust of your customer who will pay you for your services?
Joseph Hall has very well said that
“A reputation once broken may possibly be repaired, but the world will always keep their eyes on the spot where the crack was.”
It’s not only your company which loses reputation it’s you too along with the people who are working or have worked in it.
