The Deals Store

The Deals Store is a UK-focused platform that connects consumers with verified discounts and offers from various retailers.

I built The Deals Store after noticing how cluttered and untrustworthy many deal websites have become. Too many automated listings, expired offers, fake urgency and little accountability from retailers. As a buyer, it is frustrating. As someone who builds online platforms, I knew it could be done better.

The core problem I wanted to solve was trust. How can shoppers feel confident that a deal is genuine? How can retailers promote offers without being buried under spam and low quality submissions?

The idea evolved into a moderated, UK focused platform where only registered users can post and review deals. Retailers can verify their store and individual deals, adding visible credibility. Instead of prioritising volume, I focused on quality, accountability and community driven rankings.

During development, I refined the balance between openness and control. Community engagement is important, but moderation is essential. The biggest shift during the build was doubling down on verification and manual review to keep the platform clean from day one.
