
Ambulance Drone: The world is going through fast pace revolution where travel and health is predominant domain of change. This all change has one thing common and that is effective the use of technology, which has made the world more open and connected. Health sector also gets similar tech push. Alec Momont, an engineering graduate in Netherlands has released a prototype “ambulance drone” which is a flying defibrillator with ability to reach heart attack victims within precious life-saving minutes.
It is made up of Carbon fiber and 3D printed microstrucre frame making it light weight and sleek design
As the cardiac arrest emergency is triggered, the drone quickly detects the location via the caller’s mobile phone signal and makes its way with the help of Global Positioning system (GPS). The drone also provides direct feedback to the emergency service and the person on it can instruct the person in site about the process with the help of live stream audio and video connection. The defibrillator works automatically one it is placed on victim’s chest. Its first prototype was used to transport a defibrillator but many other medical equipments can also be carried to the site of emergency. It specially applies to emergencies like heart failure, drowning, traumas, and respiratory problems. With the vision to save people’s life it is an optimistic use of drone technology. Momonts however want it to become a “flying medical box” with an ability to carry every required for emergency service whether a mask to a person trapped in fire or insulin to diabetes patient.
