Startup Ideas That Frequently Fail: The revolution in the field of startups is at its peak. With increasing flow of revolution, the intensity of competition has also increased. If we divulge into the reports on Startups, we find India as the emerging country with the fastest startup ecosystem, with the figures of 3,100 in 2014 which is deemed to be raised by 12,000 by 2020. We see many entrepreneurs launching new companies with the altercation of ideas proposed before, year after year, despite the failures of same ideas that had drowned the other startups. The blame for such failures could easily be imposed on the lack of strategy and destitution of market knowledge. The annals of history have disseminated the ideas that frequently fail, which should be taken into serious account. Let’s have a look at them.
- Let’s Date: About 4000+ dating apps working, and the continuous launch of more with new features but same theme, there is no rocket science to understand the reasons for their failures. They take off with excitement but hardly reach their destination before falling down.
- Food Delivery: In the late 90’s, e-food delivering was the new dessert directly coming out from the oven of peculiarity with the delicious sprinkles of uniqueness; the smoldering fragrance was bound to attract people—but it did not. Grocery shopping is taken as socializing, and people avoid online food delivery as much as they can, becoming the fall of such startups.
- Murders of Craigslist: Murder is a punishable offence, and when the startups try to kill the Craigslist, they are bound to get the repercussion, which determines their fall. Where Craigslist is a site of classified advertisements utilized in different sections, no other startup- except Oodle as its biggest competition- had its chance against it.
- Communities Startups: Communities startup are based on the activities, and trends, which tend to receive initial success after weakening into nothingness. The size of the community decides its progress, and management plays a big role, which gets inevitably difficult after a community reach at a specific point. There are exceptions as well. We can take Quora as an example which has undoubtedly left Yahoo behind.
- Wanna beat the Google? Forget it: Many companies have launched rivals for Google, but to no avail. They have turned out as irrelevant sources making the startup taste the failure. There are many examples, like Cuil, Wolfram Alpha, etc.
- Music Startups: Capital is the most important fuel to make your work progress, and the music companies have a severe deficiency of it after paying a multitude of the amount for the royalty. The middlemen get engaged as well making it always monetizing deficient. We can conclude our point from the example of one of the biggest company, Amazon’s, music digital business, which is relatively small.
- Local News: The startups for local news does not get their due because of various things. A locality is not full of crimes, neither is of amazing events, except some big events are being held, but that is, too, very minuscule. You could work on classified but the region is very constrictive for a business to flourish.
- Event Apps: Event startups fail miserable due to the lack of funding. Not many investors are keen to put their money in startups which have 90% of chances of failure in comparison to others. Launching custom apps for big events is not a problem as they do not have money problems, on the other hand, small event’s organizers are hardly left with enough capital to pay for a custom app.
