Meet The 10 Startups From Google Launchpad Accelerator India

The internet giant Google on Friday (31st August 2018) announced the first batch of 10 shortlisted startups who will be part of its "Launchpad Accelerator" mentorship programme in India, that will provide the companies with mentoring, equity free support and cloud credits.

The classes will debut on September 10 at Google's office in Bengaluru. Launchpad Accelerator India is Google’s three-month program wherein the shortlisted startups will begin with a two-week intensive mentorship boot camp which will be followed by a customised virtual support for the remaining duration.

The key criteria for selection required startups to provide a solution for an India-specific problem using advanced technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning and applications for the same were opened in beginning of July this year i.e 2018.

The shortlisted startups are doing incredible work in areas, from enhancing employability and earning-abilities of the blue-collared workforce to using satellite imagery to support farmers’ decision-making process. This statement was added by Paul Ravindranath G, Programme Manager, Google India.

The statement added, with the help of this programme Google is hoping that they will be able to bring the best of Google- their expertise, platforms, tools and core strengths including machine learning and AI, to help Indian startups build, scale and grow their offering as these startups are using the state-of-the-art technology to solve for India’s real needs.

• CareNx Innovations Pvt Ltd

Launched in 2015, CareNx is a Mumbai-based startup founded by Shantanu Pathak and Aditya Kulkarni. health tech startup's portable pregnancy care platform uses smart algorithms to screen high-risk cases in villages and slums and connect them to gynecologists. It's products includes Smartphone-enabled fetal heart monitor for early detection of fetal asphyxia.

• ten3T Healthcare

ten3T was founded by Sudhir Borgonha, Rahul Shingrani, and Prasad Bhat in Bangalore. The startup provides an early detection system for preventable clinical adverse events by monitoring real time, remote, and continuous vital signs of patients.

• Signzy

Founded in 2015 by Ankit Ratan, Ankur Pandey, Arpit Ratan Signzy is a Mumbai and Banglore based Fintech Startup that uses AI and Blockchain to provide smart e-verification and risk prediction and aims to simplify and secure digital regulatory processes.

• Uncanny Vision

Founded in 2015 by Rajinth Parakkal and Navanee Sundaramoorthy is a startup based out of Bangalore, focused on vehicle analytics, people analytics and object analytics using high accuracy AI-based deep learning models. Their two main products are: - Uncanny Surveillance - AI-based Real-Time Surveillance.   

• OliveWear

OliveWear a Bangalore based firm initiated a home-based predictive maternal care ecosystem in both urban and rural areas. A better and healthier lifestyle can be created with the help of this startup by bringing IoT-based medical devices to pregnant women, encouraging them to take care of their health and to be informed.

• Vassar Labs

Vassar Labs is a Vishakhapatnam based firm with headquarters in Boston. Using sensors, satellite and crowd-sourced data to provide decision-making support in sectors such as water supply, agriculture and education. Vassar Labs is an AI based solution provider with machine learning that wants to enable customers bring new business models and differentiated service based on Internet-of-Things (IoT), Machine Learning, AI and Big Data.

Founded in 2017 by Giridhar Murthy, Kumar Rangarajan and Satish Chandra Gupta, Slang Labs is a Bengaluru based startup that provides a software platform for building multilingual voice interfaces for mobile apps, which enables app interactions via voice in addition to touch.

Founded in 2015 by a team of passionate engineers in Robotics and Defence engineering is Kerala-based company designs and develops robots in order to find the best solution for social impotent issues and also military purpose. Genrobotics is specialized in powered robotic exoskeletons with RC Controlled Humanoid Robotic Systems and Artificial Intelligence.

• Wysa

The startup was co-founded by Ramakant Vempati and  Jo Aggarwal in 2015 is a London and Bengaluru based startup that is your 4 am friend. Wysa developed by Touchkin, is a AI-based chat therapy that help you move forward and build an emotional resilience, where the conversations are supported by human coaches.

• MultiBhashi

MultiBhashi founded by Anuradha Agarwal in 2016, based out in Bengalore is a startup that provides an app that offers a simplified language learning platform for the blue-collared workforce to help them improve their English communication skills. Audiovisual courses and quizzes to help the users learn English Hindi, Bangla, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada is offered by the current version of their app.

Google runs its Launchpad accelerator globally and has supported at least thirty Indian startups and it claims to have helped them collectively raise over $70 million and drive revenue growth of almost 500 percent.
