Local Ustaad - Ab hoga har kaam #local

Most if not all of the modern startups have at least one thing in common, they organize an unorganised segment of the market. You can pick up any of the behemoths which were once startups, like Ola!, Uber, who organized the taxi segment or online retailers like Amazon, FlipKart, who organized the retail segment (of course).

Today, we bring to your attention Local Ustaad

A startup which prides itself on being hyper-local. Now some of our readers, may not be aware of the term hyper-local. So for their convenience, hyper-local, means the service consumer, and the provider both are from the area, in essence no service is being outsourced

So getting back to the startup we were talking about.

What does Local Ustaad do?

Local Ustaad provides you with all the services you normally fret about searching for.

Taking their vision of organizing the unorganised sector, Local Ustaad has taken it upon themselves to provide local communities with professional quality services from the unorganised sector such as maintenance, laundry, repair work, deep cleaning. So in essence, you name the service, and Local Ustaad provides it!

The idea

Ankit Jain, the founder of Local Ustaad came across the muddled and chaotic ways of work in the unorganised sector in our nation, during some maintenance work being carried out in his home.

Ankit did not have a particularly charming experience due to the lack of professionalism on the workers’ part, and he realized that this sector had potential and could even ease some burden off a lot of people’s lives.

The team behind Local Ustaad sat down and analyzed what was lacking in the unorganised sector in India and they understood that, distrust between the consumers and the service providers was a big issue, also lack of basic etiquette, and on the other hand the blue collared workers also did not get the respect they deserved.

The startup initially operated as Ghar Care, but the business model was completely offline and the staff was salaried and not working on a commission basis.

But being true entrepreneurs they moved on to a better business model which helped them scale easily compared to the previous one. The model now endorsed an online presence and dished out services using a native app which were of two different types. One app for a consumer and one app for the vendors.

Local Ustaad aims to help blue collar professionals grow and help them better their lives all the while providing consumers with excellent services.

Any employee in Local Ustaad is first trained in soft skills and the ones chosen are obviously thoroughly knowledgeable in their fields.

For the future, the team behind Local Ustaad plans to expand to other cities, as they are currently based out of Mumbai and they also plan on expanding their services portfolio and adding other viable services and all the while ensuring world class service.

So we would like to ask our readers, why look for others, when you can get yourself an Ustaad?
